Set between the cities of Narbonne and Perpignan in the Aude department of France, the naturist campsite Le Clapotis enjoys a perfect location by the world-famous Etang de la Palme, popular among windsurfers and kitesurfers. It’s a great opportunity for you to enjoy the sunshine while doing your favourite sport – or discovering a new one.

The Mediterranean region boasts the highest number of sunshine hours in France and has long been admired for the beauty and diversity of its landscapes: vineyards criss-crossed with paths on hillsides, and the garrigue with its scents of thyme and lavender. It’s the ideal destination to enjoy naturism close to nature, with your feet in the water or on a sailboard.

Delve into Cathar history in a region offering a rich, protected architectural and religious heritage: the medieval city of Carcassonne, the Cathar castles of Quéribus, and Lagrasse Abbey. These treasures have majestically withstood the test of time and will enthral history lovers.

Le Clapotis naturist campsite also offers family-oriented activities with aquagym, bike rides, circus arts and magic for kids, as well as lively, fun evenings – not forgetting the surrounding area where you’ll find the fragrant regional markets. And if all you’re looking for is to relax, our pool and sun loungers await you… with a panoramic view over the lake.

The perfect solution for harmonious holidays allowing each and every one of you to experience naturism at your own pace: naturism that belongs to you.

Reception

AccueilOur team will welcome you every day from 9 am to 7 pm in peak season and will be delighted to inform you about everything there is to do inside the campsite and out. Our technical team is also available to provide solutions for any installation problems you may have.

Bar/Restaurant

RestaurantThe Le Clapotis restaurant has changed owner for the 2015 season. The new team will be opening in the morning to serve delicious breakfasts. For lunches and dinners you will discover traditional cuisine, snacks, and some wonderful pizzas which you can enjoy on the terrace, in the shade of pine trees. Children will like the table football.

Grocery store

EpicerieAt this corner shop you can buy basics such as pasta and rice, and in the morning you can come and get your newspaper, bread and pastries. Don’t forget to reserve them the day before!

Internet

Virtually the whole of the campsite has internet coverage. You can use prepaid cards for 30 min, 60 min or 120 min.

Launderette

LaverieThe launderette is next to the shower and toilet facilities. It has coin-op washing machines but no tumble driers – given the exception number of sunshine hours, there is a washing line between two trees instead. Don’t worry if you’ve forgotten your washing powder: you can buy bags at Reception.

Post

courrier-clapotis-naturisme-socnatKeep in touch with friends and family. You can pick up your post every day at Reception, and if you have something to send, the post is collected from the yellow letterbox in front of Reception every day in summer.

Sheet and towel hire

Location_serviettesSheets and towels for a whole family can take up a lot of room in your car. Hire them instead.

  • Sheet hire: €8.50 / bed
  • Towel hire: €8.50 / set (1 floor mat and 4 towels)

You can hire spare sets if you wish.

Windsurfing & kitesurfing

WinsurfThe flagship activities here are without a doubt windsurfing and kitesurfing. One of the campsite’s great advantages is that it offers direct access to the lake from the redeveloped quay, and hence no need to transport your equipment. Swept by the famous Tramontane and Marin winds, the lake also offers beginners the significant advantage of being shallow all over the navigable zone.

Swimming pool

PiscineSituated in the lower part of the campsite, the pool and its solarium offer an incredible panoramic view over the lake. The main pool is heated and in the morning offers aquagym lessons along with swimming lanes. The 40-cm deep paddling pool is ideal for kids to have fun in full safety.

Sports activities

Activités_sportivesIf windsurfing and kitesurfing aren’t really your thing, you can take part in lively aquagym lessons or swim in the swimming lanes every morning. The multi-sports court is available for basketball, handball and Gorky Ball. Nearby, the beach volleyball pitch hosts the famous Le Clapotis tournaments. This year there will be games against our friends from the naturist villages of Port Leucate, so get into training – you have a title to defend! All around the campsite there are walking and mountain-biking trails for you to discover the beauty of the Corbières region.

Relaxation massages and magnetism sessions

Our massagist offers relaxation massages and magnetism sessions. The massages are done with organic oils. There are 2 options available: the discovery package which lasts 30 minutes and the full package which lasts 45 to 60 minutes.

Magnetism involves the transmission of energy through the imposition of hands on the body whose effect is to restore harmony and balance. The role of the Magnetizer is to relieve pain by this technique.

Boules

PétanqueOur campsite obviously has a boules pitch, and we organise numerous tournaments that attract increasing numbers of players. Night-time games are organised several times a week, as it is just as pleasant to play when the temperature is cooler.

Evenings

SoiréesWhen evening comes the campsite livens up around the restaurant terrace, which has a stage that regularly hosts shows, music concerts and DJs to get you moving to the summer beat. You will also enjoy the barbecues shared among holidaymakers, as they are a great opportunity to chat and make new friends.

Port La Nouvelle

Port_La_Nouvelle5 miles from the campsite, the town of Port la Nouvelle boasts all the charm of Mediterranean seaside resorts. The town’s main attraction is definitely the port, which is the 3rd largest on the Mediterranean coast. It comprises a fishing harbour, a yachting harbour and a trading port which mainly deals in cereals and petroleum products. The resort offers 6 miles of beaches, which are naturist in the southern part.

Salin de La palme

Situated between the Mediterranean Sea and the north side of La Palme natural lake, Le Salin wetland covers an area of more than 400 hectares of very characteristic geometrical structures. The salt has been exploited by man since ancient times in a natural and wild landscape and salt production plays a key role in the balance and maintenance of the biodiversity of the lagoon.
Visit Le Salin wetland in a small train or by horse-drawn carriage and find out about the history of salt and the trade secrets of men working with this white gold.
On site you will find the Boutique de la Mer shop, ideal for souvenirs, the “La Mer à boire” straw hut with its welcoming atmosphere and the “Hameau du Saunier” restaurant serving delicious food.

Leucate Village &Port Leucate

Port_LeucateYou’ll enjoy visiting the traditional fishing and winemaking village of Leucate. It has a lively central square, a castle, narrow streets and sunlight on the façades of its houses. You can then move on to the seaside resort of Port Leucate and its yachting harbour, considered the biggest in Mediterranean Europe. A bit further on you will find the naturist village with its 8 residences. This village shares many activities with Le Clapotis, particularly events and sports tournaments.

Sigean African Reserve

Réserve_de_SigeanWith more than 3800 African animal species, the Sigean African Reserve is Europe’s largest animal park. Covering 300 hectares, it is the ideal place to observe the behaviour of numerous rare animals such as antelopes, giraffes, elephants, white rhinoceros, zebras, chimpanzees and many other exceptional creatures. Not to be missed.

Perpignan

PerpignanThe capital of French Catalonia, Perpignan will surprise you by the number and wealth of its historic monuments. History lovers should visit the Palace of the Kings of Majorca and its garden, Saint Jean-Baptiste Cathedral, and the Castillet, a vestige of the city’s fortifications. The medieval charm of this city and its palm trees will not leave you indifferent. And since you’re in the area, why not go to nearby Perthus to do a bit of shopping?

Fort de Salse

Forteresse_de_Salse10 miles away from Perpignan, visit the 15th-century Fort de Salse, its stables, its square, its chapel and its galleries and keeps. This imposing building with military architecture was built by the Spanish Catholic monarchs Ferdinand II of Aragon and Isabelle of Castile. It is now home to contemporary art installations, creating a surprising bond between the ancient and modern worlds.

Elne Cathedral

Cathédrale_d'ElneStop off at Elne, 10 miles south of Perpignan, to visit the village and its Sainte Eulalie-et-Sainte-Julie cathedrals dating back to 1042; their rich, eventful past will fascinate history lovers. You can also visit the Musée Etienne Terrus (1857-1922), a museum named after the watercolour painter who was a friend of Matisse. The floors of the museum are dedicated to works by contemporary artists who have lived in Elne.

Château de Quéribus

Château_QuéribusOn the summit of a rocky hill, Château de Quéribus overlooks the Roussillon lowlands. One of the foremost Cathar castles, its strategic location made it one of the prime defensive military outposts, along with the castles of Monségur and Peyrepertuse. The walk from the village of Cucugnan to the castle is great, but watch out, it’s steep!

Gorges de Gallamus

Gorges_GallamusIn the last foothills of the Corbières, close to the village of Saint Paul de Fenouillet, there is an immense, deep natural fault dug out by the River Agly. It goes without saying that this outstandingly beautiful site will delight sportspeople who like extreme sensations, and holidaymakers looking for an offbeat swimming site. These listed natural gorges can be visited on foot.

Terra Vinéa

Terra_VinéaMore than 80m underground, visit Terra Vinéa, an exceptional museum taking you through the eras and throwing the spotlight on gastronomy, vine-growing and winemaking in the Corbières region. Watch the magical sound & light show in the natural cellars containing wine barrels. Visit a reconstructed Roman villa. Your kids will love it!

Narbonne

NarbonneFounded in 118 BC by the Romans, the city of Narbonne offers visitors the remains of many centuries of history, such as the paving on the Voie Domitienne, the Archbishops’ Palace and Saint Just et Saint Pasteur Cathedral. Don’t leave without visiting the indoor market with its 65 artisans who will let you taste their wines, foie gras, truffles and cheeses. A real treat!

Camping pitches

What most sets the Le Clapotis campsite apart is the peace and quiet. Here you can enjoy traditional camping in a tent, caravan or camper van. Windsurfing is omnipresent - at every pitch you can see a board, sail or wetsuit drying in the wind.

Sheltered pitches

You are bound to find the perfect spot for your holiday among hundreds of clearly-defined and leafy pitches set among Pine and Cypress trees. The ground is relatively flat. Each 80 to 100m² pitch is powered by an electricity supply with a 6A current.

Divided areas for easier navigation

Le Clapotis is now divided into five areas which have been given the names of birds: Geais, Perdrix, Colibris, Fauvette and Mésange (Jay, Partridge, Hummingbird, Warbler and Tit). Facing the pond, the Fauvette area and its panoramic view is more designed to accommodate camper vans. These pitches are not supplied with electricity. Campers with small tents will prefer the Mésange area which is without electricity and terrace landscaped, close to the swimming pool. Those with caravans tend to head to the Perdrix and Colibris areas with slightly larger pitches.

Sanitation blocks
The campground has 5 sanitation blocks, 2 of which are supplied with hot water. Each block is being completely refurbished over the coming season.
