In the heart of the Cèze Gorges area in the Cévennes, La Genèse naturist campsite stands on 26 hectares of protected plant life, offering an extraordinary, untamed setting in which nature is omnipresent. The site is quiet, ideal for relaxing by the riverside, far away from the hordes of tourists, and the perfect environment for convivial naturism.

Whether you prefer traditional camping or rented accommodation, our infrastructure provides numerous solutions to meet the expectations of each and every one of you. Tents, mobile homes or chalets – whatever you choose, you will enjoy comfortable naturism that suits you.

A leading spot for family-oriented naturism, La Genèse offers its holidaymakers a wide variety of activities in keeping with its values and in harmony with the natural elements, as well as all the opportunities afforded by the site’s superb location in the heart of the Cévennes region.
Fishing, canoeing, swimming and sunbathing to the sound of lapping water are all popular pastimes on the pebble beaches. Kids have plenty of activities designed specifically for them, with the Mini Club, the Club Ados, disco evenings, theatre workshops and a playground…

Sports enthusiasts will be spoiled for choice with gym sessions, tennis, volleyball, aquagym, hiking and archery lessons. And since for many people naturist holidays mean living naked but also being pampered, La Genèse naturist campsite has a wellness centre with a sauna, body contouring and sessions with a beautician to get you in the mood for a great evening out organised by our team.

The Domaine de La Genèse is a campsite renowned for its friendly atmosphere and the stunning heritage to be viewed in the region, such as Vallon Pont d’Arc, the Pont du Gard and the Roman remains in Orange and Nîmes.

For your next holiday, treat yourself to a unique experience: convivial, shared naturism. You’ll see that naturism is different at the Domaine de La Genèse.

The river

The River Cèze is an important feature of life at La Genèse. You have direct access to it as it runs alongside the campsite for over 800 m, alternating between sandy beaches, gravel and rock. It is irregular in depth, so you can either paddle or swim depending on the spot. The campsite has six canoes at your disposal for you to go off exploring in full safety. Keen anglers will also find the perfect place for their hobby, provided they keep away from the swimming areas.

Swimming pool

La_piscineSupervised in peak season, the pool is located between the Prairie and Sauvage areas and is one of the campsite’s key meeting places. You’ll love the unobstructed view over the nearby thalwegs and the countryside. The main pool has been refurbished and enlarged and each morning is the venue for aquagym lessons and serious swimming. Enjoy the water slide with a “water-brake” offering great fun for all. The youngest children can have fun in the paddling pool with its own slide and water games under the supervision of their parents.

Children’s entertainment

Animations_enfantsAt La Genèse we make sure children have plenty to do. A chalet specially designed for the Mini Club welcomes children aged 4 to 12 in both the morning and the afternoon during peak season. Our specialised supervisors speak several languages and provide all sorts of creative activities to stimulate children’s curiosity and development. At the playground they can use their agility on the climbing frames and have tremendous fun on the inflatable castle and the trampoline. The Club Ados is a place for teenagers (13 to 17 years) to get together under the eye of specialised supervisors and decide on the day’s schedule: river, pool, theatre, debates – anything is possible. They can even cross the river to meet the teenagers at the naturist campsite on the other side…

Sports activities

Animations_sportivesIf you feel in need of an energetic wake-up, Thierry and his team offer gym classes with music in the marquee. Stretch those muscles, loosen up, and get your body into shape! If you prefer team sports there is the volleyball pitch, the tennis court and the multi-sports pitch. Friendly tournaments are organised regularly. Several times a week, naked walks departing from the campsite will allow you to discover the plant and animal life in the Cévennes countryside. To complete the offering of summer sports, archery lessons with a qualified instructor require good concentration and a steady hand.

Boules

PétanqueIf there’s one sport you’ll generally find at all campsites, it is boules, and La Genèse is no exception. What’s more, the boules pitch is right next to the Barlaba where you can go and celebrate your victory. Be warned though: the La Genèse residents’ team is awesome!

Well-being

Holidays are the ideal time to pamper yourself. At the sauna you can purify yourself by getting rid of all the toxins in your body. Then move on to a contouring session to make you feel relaxed and at peace. Twice a week in peak season, you can also make the most of Sandra’s beauty treatments – and a haircut, if you like.

Evenings

SoiréesOnce or twice a week our holidaymakers gather together to watch a recent film at the volleyball court. Don’t forget to bring your chair. But most evenings are organised around the stage facing the Barlaba, with magic shows, games evenings, karaoke, cabarets and concerts. At La Genèse, time flies by!

Cocalière Cave

Grotte_CocalièreAt Courry, 15 miles from La Genèse, Cocalière Cave takes you on an extraordinary underground voyage. Considered one of the top three caves in France, it contains wonders of nature such as the crystal lake, the cave door and the prehistoric gallery. NB: the temperature inside the cave is 14°C, so bring warm clothing.

Vallon Pont d’Arc

Vallon_Pont_d'ArcThe village of Vallon Pont d’Arc is around 20 miles from the campsite and is well-known for being the starting-point for the 17-mile decent of the Ardèche Gorges by canoe. The spectacle is breath-taking as you pass beneath the natural arch of the 60-m-high Pont d’Arc, dug out of the earth by the River Ardèche. The beauty of the site has led it to be listed as a “Grand Site de France”.

The Grand Duchy of Uzès

Duché_d'UzesIn the heart of the village of Uzès, around 20 miles from Méjannes-le Clap, discover the Grand Duchy, a huge military castle with a keep, ramparts, Bermonde Tower dating back to the 12th century, and the corner towers. You can visit its private rooms with their period furniture, and climb to the top of the keep where you’ll get an unobstructed view over the town.

Alès Mine

Mine_témoin_d'AlesAs testimony to the mining history of Alès between 1880 and the present day, this reconstruction of a mine takes you through 700 m of tunnels to learn about the amazing world of the “black faces”. After being lowered underground in a miner’s lift, you find out about all the various ore-extraction techniques. Like any good miner, you will obviously have to wear a helmet.

Pont du Gard

Pont_du_GardAn extraordinary Roman construction that has survived several millennia, the Pont du Gard is one of the bridges on the 30-mile aqueduct that transported water from Uzès to Nîmes. There is a museum nearby where you can learn about the historical role of water in Roman life. It’s fascinating !

Anduze Bamboo Grove

Bambouseraie_d'AnduzeIn Anduze, this grove is the only one of its kind in Europe and is home to more than 150 varieties of bamboo as well as other exotic plants in a park covering 15 hectares. You can admire the giant bamboo forest, the Laotian village and the Japanese garden. Children will love getting lost in the maze.

Ancient Theatre of Orange

Théatre_antique_d'OrangeBuilt in the first century AD under the reign of Augustus, the Ancient Theatre of Orange is without a doubt one of the best-preserved Roman theatres in the world. It is famous above all for its impressive stage wall which is 103 m long, 37 m high and 1.80 m thick. Its outstanding acoustics make it the ideal venue for festivals, concerts and shows.

Nîmes

NîmesWhen you stay a La Genèse you absolutely must make the 30-mile trip to the city of Nîmes, nicknamed “the Roman” due to the presence of an incredible number of monuments dating back further than 2000 years, including the Maison Carrée and the Arènes. But Nîmes is also famous for its feria, its fanfares and its festive evenings!

Avignon

avignon-socnat-naturisme40 miles from La Genèse, Avignon awaits you with its exceptional architectural heritage including the Popes’ Palace, the Pont d’Avignon, the Place du Palais and Avignon Cathedral. But Avignon is equally famous for its world-renowned International Festival. If you like theatre and dance, you must make the trip to Avignon in July!

Pitches for the pure joy of camping

At La Genèse naturist campsite there is a large choice of pitches. According to the feel you’re looking for, you might choose the Prairie sector close to the village centre, or you might opt for the Sauvage sector that is further away and quieter.

Prairie/ Terrasse/ Force Mâle sector

Situated close to the restaurant, reception, grocery store, swimming pool and mini-club, in the summer season this sector is buzzing with life.
It will appeal to holiday makers wanting to immerse themselves “in the lively campsite atmosphere” and who don’t want to have far to go to get to the various activities available. This sector also has two spots from where you can access the river and the large pebble beach.
In this area there are 140 pitches with electricity available. If you want just a basic pitch without electricity supply, just let reception know when you arrive.

Sauvage/ Colline sectors

Open from mid-June to the end of August, this long sector incorporates 230 pitches, of which 112 have electricity. It is located away from the hustle and bustle of the summer season…
You will enjoy the sound of water flowing in the river nearby as well as the quiet of the forest lulling you into a sense of calm. Situated approximately 400m from the animated campsite centre, the ground here is relatively flat. The sector is ideal for holiday makers who want to camp where it is quiet and who like being able to stretch their legs walking or cycling to the different site facilities.

Highly popular, the sector’s “front row” offers a stunning view of the river and gives you access to an extensive sandy and pebbly beach. There is also a very pleasant river bathing spot here, and the surrounding vegetation provides welcome cover during the summer months.

For those looking for an even quieter pitch, the Colline sector is situated higher up in the campsite, on the edge of the Sauvage sector. It offers peace and quiet, sun and an unobstructed view over the ruins of the Château de Fereyrolles.
