Located in Caraman in the Haute Garonne area, 28 Km east of Toulouse, Les Aillos naturist campsite welcomes you to a beautiful, natural 6-hectare site set amidst fields of wheat and sunflowers. To reach us, take a small road out of the village which only leads to the campsite. Needless to say, the setting is very peaceful.

Once you arrive there’s no longer any doubt; the small red bricks which make up the magnificent farm building typical of the region are there to remind you that we really are in the heart of the Lauraguais region. The majority of the communal areas are located in this historic building, which dates back to the early 19th century and has been entirely restored. Right next to it is the restaurant, the shared barbecue and the swimming pool.

The gently rolling site is located on top of a hill, with the motor-home and mobile-home pitches situated on the higher level. From here there is a superb, rural view over the fields. As you descend towards the other pitches, you will discover a specially created clearing, then cross through a wood consisting of oak trees, ash trees and acacias which offer considerable protection against the sun in summertime. In this area, the pitches and rental accommodation are arranged in terraces, thus avoiding the monotony of an overly flat terrain.

At Les Aillos Campsite, the ambience is very festive. It’s nice to meet up with other naturists around large tables to enjoy a fine duck magret grilled over a wood fire. Here conviviality is the rule and everyone chats, discusses and shares with each other, whether you are a holidaymaker, a resident, a French native or foreigner.

Be careful, good humour is contagious!

The function room

BarThe function room is situated in the farm building. As an amusing detail, the animal mangers on the wall have been preserved adding a touch of authenticity to this magnificent building. In 2015 work will be done to make the room, where the interior bar and billiards table are also situated, lighter. It will be the setting for many of Les Aillos’s well-known musical evenings.

Caraman village

CaramanThis small village of 2,388 inhabitants was a fortified village in mediaeval times and had three entrance gates. For many years Caraman was the main centre of the Mediterranean salt trade. Today, only traces of its ramparts remain, but you can still visit its church which has been reconstructed several times and the Fontaine de Rolle which used to supply the town with drinking water.

Ferme de Prat Mau

Ferme_Prat_MauLocated 2 km away from the Campsite, the Prat Mau leisure farm features an “archaeological site” which presents architecture through the ages. You will discover what an excavation site is like, and the very youngest can have a try. Craft industries are also in evidence at the farm. You can observe demonstrations of modelling and firing of pottery. Finally, the farm is above all devoted to the production and sale of organic agricultural produce. The farm and the vegetable garden are open to visitors.

Lac de l’Orme Blanc

Lac_Orme_BlancThe Lac de l’Orme Blanc lies around 3 km from the Campsite. There is a charge for admission, but it will only cost you one euro per person. Bathing is supervised during July and August. Fishing is also permitted. There is a purpose made walking trail right around the lake which offers a 1.5 km walk shaded by vegetation. There is an area equipped with tables and benches where you can enjoy the delights of picnicking.

Toulouse

ToulouseEven if you wish to spend a 100% naturist holiday, you cannot miss a visit to Toulouse the “Pink City”; a superb city so very rich in history. You will discover its remarkable monuments, the Capitole, the Saint Sernin Basilica, Saint-Etienne Cathedral as well as the bridges spanning the Garonne River, its fountains, parks, gardens and museums.

The Canal du Midi

Canal_du_MidiThe Canal du Midi, created in the 17th century by Pierre Paul Riquet, is 240 km in length and connects the Atlantic Ocean to the Mediterranean Sea. It has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. 44 km away from the Campsite, you can enjoy boarding a barge for a one-day or half-day guided tour, and discover a section of the canal, its engineering works, its locks and all of its history.

Castelnaudary

CastelnaudaryOnly 36 km away from Les Aillos, campsite, you can visit the old medieval district of Castelnaudary, the world capital of the cassoulet. At the musée du Lauragais you will discover a region which is vibrant and rich from its work on the land. A few metres away from the town centre, enjoy a walk around the marina which is connected to the Canal du Midi. Above all, don’t miss the famous cassoulet festival at the end of August, which will give you the opportunity to sample this delicious traditional dish composed of sausages, pork rind and white haricot beans. A real delicacy!

Castelnau-de-Montmiral

Castelnau-de-MontmiralThe mediaeval village of Castelnau-de-Montmiral was founded by the Count of Toulouse, Raymond VII, and is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful villages in France. Considered in former times to be an impregnable fortress, today it is an oasis of peace with a central square where you can admire the facades and arcades typical of this era.
